AOPA at Work
April 30th drew the deadline for the 2010 Airservices/AOPA Scholarship applications; by the end of day we had received submissions from over 55 applicants. I’ve never felt so assured about the future of this industry as I did when I read those scholarships.
Before I announce the winners, I’d like to mention that every application was written to an exceptional standard, which made it very difficult to pick the winners.
First however, I’ll say a bit about the scholarships, in case you’re not already aware. There are three scholarships to the tune of $6,000 which are awarded to launch our winners to PPL or beyond. Each applicant submitted a one thousand word essay and a training plan outlining their path to success.
The board were appointed the almost impossible task of deciding which three applications were to receive this grant.
And now… “Shut up and tell us who won!”
All right, all right… settle down. The three winners for this years’ Airservices/AOPA Scholarships are Luke Hoy, Finian Stronach and Ryan Campbell.
I strongly encourage those who entered this year and missed out, to re-apply next year as it was VERY close! Congratulations to everyone who entered and I look forward to sharing the skies with you shortly.
Until next time …
