AOPA at Work
There have been some changes in the office here at AOPA, and I’d like to be the first to announce that Allan’s reign of terror is over, and that my reign of terror begins now!
I’ve taken over as Office Manager for AOPA, and will be working hard to create an even greater platform for the advocacy of our members and their right to fly without unnecessary costs. My first mission, of many, is to streamline the office systems to provide a smart, efficient, and cost effective system, allowing AOPA to provide more to our members.
I plan on speaking with all our members over the next year, to really show you what AOPA is doing for you. I’d like to extend a warm welcome to our new helicopter members. AOPA and its newly formed Helicopter Committee is already at work representing the rotary wing affiliation. On this matter, I would like to thank all of our new members, as well as our renewing members; it’s great to have you on board.
For now, a little about myself and how I came to be here: I’ve been involved in aviation for two years, and in that time I have acquired my CPL, MECIR, my Grade III Instructor Rating, and a few ATPL’s to boot. Prior to aviation, I worked predominantly in sales and I.T, while running my own online retail store. My love for aviation and my previous management experiences have prepared me for what has so far been a great role, and I look forward to taking AOPA forward into the future.
I won’t waste any more of your time, as there are a lot of other exciting things in the magazine you could be reading, but I will let you know that there are a lot of great ideas in the pipeline at the moment, and my advice to our members is to watch this space. All the best, and I look forward to speaking with you in the future.
