Casino Airport requests AOPA members' help... AGAIN!

Members are requested to voice their concern over a newly proposed DA to allow regular drag racing on the airport. The original DA was rescinded after a large number of complaints were received, but this new DA has just come to our attention. In order for your comments to be considered you must start the letter as follows:

“I hereby make this submission re DA 2011-064 by way of objection (or agreement).” Your submission will be more effective if it is not a written letter but rather is a collection of objections organized in “bullet” format (which is simply short lines of detailed information).

The DA contains a document designed to counter some of the previous arguments mounted against the original DA. It is obviously written by non-aviation oriented individuals who have stated (along with other strange comments) that even if drag racing is occuring on 300 meters of the runway the remaining 600 meters is still available for landing in an emergency.

Your help is greatly appreciated and of vital importance.
