AOPA Australia Online – Supporting Aviation

Information Centre

The CASA OAR has commissioned the Ambidji Group, in conjunction with Lloyd’s Register, to conduct a review of the utility to Australian airspace management of General Aviation Airport Procedures (GAAP) as used at Bankstown, Camden, Moorabbin, Jandakot, Archerfield and Parafield.

To assist this review, an online link is available to a questionnaire

The review will research best practice in other aviation regulatory jurisdictions, and the Classes of airspace and aerodrome procedures documented by ICAO in Annexes and related SARPs.

The review will determine the most appropriate airspace Class or procedure for Australia and provide recommendations to the OAR. Recommendations will be supported by risk assessments and cost-benefit analysis.

The review will include consultation with stakeholders, face to face and through an on-line questionnaire. The questionnaire is available here. Stakeholder meetings and Hazard Identification Workshops will be held during February and March 2009 at GAAP aerodromes.
